Compatibility Details

• Tesla Model S (2012–2015): compatibility requires confirmation of the factory 12 PIN socket and signal outputs in the specific vehicle.
• Tesla Model X: among the specified range of model years, it applies to selected units from 2015; Model X was not produced in 2012–2014.
• Later model years of Model S and Model X: may use different connectors or diagnostic solutions; compatibility should be verified individually.
• Model 3 and Model Y: are not covered by the declared use of this adapter.

The adapter does not guarantee reading or clearing all faults, coding, programming, driver software updates, or access to all vehicle modules.

If you plan to purchase an OBD2 / 12-pin adapter for Tesla S and Tesla X models from 2012-2015, it is advisable to check in advance whether your diagnostic socket in the vehicle is compatible with this adapter.

The OBDII 12-pin adapter for Tesla S and X models produced in 2012-2015 allows the connection of an OBD2 Diagnostic Interface to the socket in the car, which will facilitate monitoring and diagnosing its condition.

Reader and Application Selection

To read data, a tester that supports the signals provided by the car and a compatible application are needed. Examples of solutions used for analyzing Tesla data include selected OBDLink readers and the Scan My Tesla and TM-SPY applications. Mentioning names does not imply confirmation of compatibility for every version of the device or program.

A universal OBD2 scanner or a cheap ELM327 interface does not guarantee communication with this car. Before purchasing, check the list of supported interfaces in the chosen application.
