The AutoVIN function can automatically read the VIN and recognize the compatible vehicle when the tester is connected. This speeds up the start of diagnostics and reduces the risk of manually selecting the wrong model.

If AutoVIN does not recognize a specific car, you can proceed to manually select the brand and model. The lack of automatic VIN reading does not automatically mean that the device is incompatible.

CAN FD – support for new generation vehicles

JP V2.0 supports CAN FD – Controller Area Network Flexible Data-rate, a modern communication protocol used in an increasing number of new cars.

Important – active tests and advanced functions

iCarsoft JP V2.0 does not support two-way control / full active tests. This function has been added in the higher models JP V3.0 and JP V4.0.

JP V2.0 also does not have the extended package of advanced service functions available in newer generations. If active triggering of pumps, valves, fans, or other actuators is needed, you should choose JP V3.0 or JP V4.0.

Important information regarding compatibility

The range of available systems, service functions, AutoVIN, and CAN FD support depends on the specific brand, model, year, engine, target market, equipment version, and applied ECU controllers.

Not every service function is available in every car. Before purchasing for a specific vehicle, we recommend checking compatibility based on the exact model, year, engine version, and VIN number.

Clearing a fault code does not remove the physical cause of the fault. If the problem persists, the code may reappear.
