16 Japanese and Korean brands

JP V3.0 is designed specifically for Asian cars. The manufacturer claims support for 16 brands: 13 Japanese and 3 Korean.

In the Korean group, the manufacturer indicates:

  • Hyundai
  • KIA
  • Daewoo

In the Japanese group, there are brands such as Toyota, Honda, Nissan, and other brands covered by the manufacturer's current vehicle database.

Important: the exact range of supported systems, service functions, active tests, and coding depends on the specific model, year of manufacture, target market, equipment version, and the ECU controllers used.

Full diagnostics of all systems

JP V3.0 provides access not only to the engine but also to many other electronic modules of the car.

  • engine / ECU,
  • automatic transmission,
  • ABS, ESP, and braking systems,
  • SRS airbags,
  • electronic parking brake EPB,
  • steering system,
  • comfort and body systems,
  • air conditioning,
  • lighting systems,
  • door and window modules,
  • hybrid systems – if supported by the specific model,
  • other controllers accessible via the diagnostic connector.

Advanced diagnostic functions

  • Read DTCs – reading fault codes in all available modules,
  • Clear DTCs – clearing codes after the cause of the fault has been removed,
  • ECU Information – reading part numbers, software versions, and controller data,
  • Live Data – viewing operating parameters in real-time,
  • Freeze Frame – reading data saved at the time of the error occurrence,
  • automatic scanning of available controllers,
  • access to all compatible ECUs via standard 16-pin OBDII connector,
  • diagnostic history, saving and printing reports.

Full active tests – two-way control

One of the most important advantages of JP V3.0 over JP V2.0 is two-way control. The tester can send commands directly to the vehicle controllers and activate selected actuators.

This allows for a quick check of whether a given component responds to the ECU command and helps determine whether the problem is with the actuator, electrical installation, or controller.

Depending on the vehicle, it is possible to perform, among others:

  • ABS pump test,
  • control of electric windows,
  • fuel pump activation,
  • throttle control,
  • other actuator tests available in individual modules.

The range of active tests depends on the specific car and the controllers used.

ECU coding – Hyundai, KIA, Mazda, and Subaru

JP V3.0 offers coding and configuration functions for selected models of Hyundai, KIA, Mazda, and Subaru.

The manufacturer currently claims support for coding in the following ranges:

  • Hyundai / KIA – models from around 2010
  • Mazda – selected models from around 2003–2020
  • Subaru – selected models from around 2014

Depending on the vehicle, it is possible to perform, among others:

  • adaptation of settings after replacing a controller or component,
  • configuration of powertrain parameters,
  • configuration of EPB, safety systems, and suspension,
  • copying or entering selected controller data,
  • changing selected parameters of the BCM module and instrument cluster,
  • configuration of lights, alarm, automatic locking, and comfort functions,
  • calibration of selected TPMS settings and wheel parameters,
  • changing selected regional settings and units.

Important: coding depends on the specific model and ECU. This function does not imply full online programming, firmware updates for all controllers, or replacement of the manufacturer's factory diagnostic system.

47 service functions – 9 popular + 38 advanced

JP V3.0 has a total of 47 service functions. The manufacturer divides them into 9 most commonly used daily service procedures and 38 more advanced workshop functions.

Among the most popular functions are:

  • Oil Service Reset – resetting oil and service inspection,
  • SAS Reset – calibration of the steering angle sensor,
  • EPB / Brake Pad Reset – handling the electric parking brake and brake pad replacement,
  • Electronic Throttle Control – adaptation of the throttle,
  • DPF Regeneration – regeneration of the particulate filter,
  • Injector Coding – coding / entering parameters for injectors,
  • ABS Bleeding – assisting in bleeding the ABS system,
  • BMS Reset – handling and recording battery replacement,
  • TPMS Reset – selected procedures for the tire pressure monitoring system.

The remaining 38 functions include more advanced resetting, adaptation, and calibration procedures. Their availability depends on the specific brand, model, year, and ECU.

AutoVIN – automatic vehicle recognition

The AutoVIN function can automatically read the VIN and recognize the vehicle when the tester is connected, speeding up the start of diagnostics and reducing the risk of selecting the wrong model.

If AutoVIN does not recognize the car, manual selection of the brand, model, and year can be used. The lack of automatic VIN reading does not automatically indicate incompatibility or device malfunction.

CAN FD and DoIP – support for new vehicle architectures

JP V3.0 supports CAN FD – a modern protocol providing greater data throughput than the classic CAN bus.

The manufacturer also declares readiness for DoIP – Diagnostics over Internet Protocol, used in new electronic architectures.

The availability of these protocols depends on the specific vehicle.

Full 10 OBDII / EOBD modes

  • Read Codes,
  • Erase Codes,
  • I/M Readiness,
  • Live Data,
  • Freeze Frame,
  • Vehicle Information,
  • O2 Monitor Test,
  • On-Board Monitor Test,
  • EVAP System Test,
  • Pending Codes.

The device supports compatible cars compliant with OBDII, EOBD, JOBD, KOBD, CAN, and CAN FD standards.

Diagnostic history and reports

  • quick access to previously diagnosed vehicles and systems,
  • saving diagnostic results,
  • saving and sharing reports,
  • printing data when the device is connected to a Windows computer via USB,
  • Feedback function for reporting diagnostic issues to the manufacturer.

Who is iCarsoft JP V3.0 intended for?

  • for owners of Japanese and Korean cars,
  • for advanced users servicing their own cars,
  • for mechanics and diagnosticians,
  • for independent workshops specializing in Asian brands,
  • for dealerships and companies trading cars,
  • for individuals checking a car before purchase,
  • for users needing active tests and coding without purchasing a large workshop tablet.

iCarsoft JP V2.0, JP V3.0, and JP V4.0 – differences

  • JP V2.0 – 4″ screen, physical buttons, full system diagnostics, and basic service functions, without two-way control.
  • JP V3.0 – 4″ screen, physical buttons, full active tests, coding of selected ECUs, and 47 service functions.
  • JP V4.0 – retains advanced features of V3.0, additionally offers a larger 5″ touchscreen and updates via Wi-Fi.

All three models are designed for the same 16 Asian brands and offer full system diagnostics and AutoVIN. JP V3.0 is the right choice for users who need active tests, a broader range of service functions, and coding but prefer a compact 4″ design with physical buttons.

Why choose iCarsoft JP V3.0?

iCarsoft JP V3.0 is a specialized tester for Japanese and Korean cars, offering functions that go far beyond simple reading and clearing of faults.

The device provides full diagnostics of all systems, two-way control, coding of selected ECUs for Hyundai/KIA/Mazda/Subaru, 47 service functions, AutoVIN, CAN FD, DoIP, and support for the Polish language.

This is a very good choice for a user or workshop that needs advanced diagnostics for Asian cars without a mandatory subscription while maintaining a compact, durable design.

Important information regarding compatibility

The range of available diagnostic functions, 47 service functions, active tests, ECU coding, AutoVIN, CAN FD, and DoIP depends on the specific brand, model, year, engine, target market, equipment version, and the ECU controllers used.

Not every function is available in every car. Before purchase, we recommend checking compatibility based on the exact model, year, engine version, and VIN number.

ECU coding is currently declared for selected models of Hyundai, KIA, Mazda, and Subaru. The range may vary depending on the vehicle and controller.

Coding functions do not imply full online programming of all modules, firmware updates, or replacement of the manufacturer's factory diagnostic system.

Clearing a fault code does not remove the physical cause of the fault. If the problem persists, the fault may reappear.
